A reward is on offer for anyone who has information leading to the conviction of those responsible for the death of a dog whose body was found outside a Yorkshire animal rescue centre.

If you have any information about the owners of a dog aged about one-year-old - who was left in a blanket outside Whitehall kennels and rescue centre in Cave Lane, East Ardsley, Wakefield, between midnight and 5am on Friday September 17, 2010 - you are asked to contact Wakefield police.

By the time the owner of the rescue centre found the dog just before dawn - he had died.

Thousands of people are trying to highlight the tragic case and also seek harsher sentences for those who carry out acts of animal cruelty.

A tribute has been started online for Jack - the name that Whitehall rescue centre gave to the tragic dog - and you can register free to add a message of support or a virtual gift.
