Walking the length of the Wharfe

I've been thinking about doing a walk along the Wharfe over five or six days, with a tent (probably... there's supposed to be a heat wave this summer!). It seems like the Dales Way (and later the Ebor Way) follows the river for quite a long way, so I'm hoping there would actually be paths for most of the way.

Has anyone else done this? Any tips for places to stay or campsites en route?
