IGHTHAM Mote hosted a Victorian Fun Day on Thursday.

More than 1,000 visitors enjoyed various themed activities including dressing up, wattle fencing and garden and house trails. National Trust staff and volunteers dressed accordingly and even the flowers in the house were arranged in a Victorian style.

Pictured are head gardener Adam Ford and visitor service assistant Patty Judge.

Visitor services manager Katharine Otley said: “While parts of the house date back to the 14th century, much of the interior is Victorian and so it really lends itself to an event like this.

“It has been great to see so many people getting involved in the activities and learning more about the Victorian period.”

The moated manor house will be hosting a Second World War day on Thursday, August 26.
